William Young Hiter became a Baptist in 1801 under the teaching of the Craigs. Returned to Virginia with the Rev. William Warger.

William, James, Hugh and Elizabeth were the children of the Reverend William Young Hiter who was born ca. 1778 and died 1848, he married Jane Goodwin. He was the son of James Hiter born ca. 1744 in Stafford Co, Va, and died 1801 in Kentucky, he was married to Elizabeth Young. James was the son of William Hiter and Anne Hewes.
