I have copies of the following census records for Frederick Gerhart: This first census record lists Frederick and his siblings and his mother. It is to be noted that his father was not listed. An 1840 census lists a 'Doraty Gerhart' also and this may be our Dorothee` which would indicate Jacob was either dead by 1840 or at the least not living with Dorothee`.

An Obituary for Frederick Gearhart:

SUICIDE AT IRA.
For the first time in the history of the neighborhood of Ira, a coroner's call was sent in from there on Saturday morning for an investigation into the death of Fred Gearhart.
For some years past he had been in poor health and recently had shown symptoms of intended suicide. On Saturday morning his grandson went to his room to see him and the grandfather said he would not get up just yet and the boy and his mother went to rake the yard. After some little time, about twenty minutes, the boy returned to his bedroom and found the body suspended from the bed post by means of a red bandanna handkerchief around his neck and tied to the bed post.
No inquest was held as all indications were perfectly clear that death came to him while by himself and by his own hand.
The deceased lived just east of Ira and leaves a family of five, including one son, George, who lives in Newton. He has been a resident of that neighborhood for many years and by hard work had accumulated considerable property. (Dated March 29, 1905

ILLIAM PANKES PANCOAST,SR.:
I have a naturalization record that shows William Pancoast as a witness for William Ottridge on June 4, 1824. This from the Abstracts of Naturalization Records, Circuit Court, District of Columbia found in FamilyTreemaker CD 170, Immigrants to the New World, 1600s - 1800s. I do not know if this is the correct William Pancoast.

According to the 1870 census in the 'Boroough of Danville, 4th Ward, Montour County, PA on the 25th day of August, 1870 William Pancoast was 33 yrs old which would make his birth year about 1837.
