The William Ball Family Home PageUpdated September 5, 2000 |
I am researching the BALL Family. Via Amador County California records I can go back to Aaron H. Ball. Aaron died in Elkhart, Indiana in 1847. Sometime around 1860 his widow, Jeannette Proctor, and at least some of their nine children came west to settle in Amador County. That must have been some trip! Via other genealogical records I located Aaron H. Ball and traced his ancestry back through Stafford, Essex and Middlesex counties in Virginia back to Alling Ball, whose brother William was George Washington's great grandfather (which places me George's 3rd cousin 9 times removed). Their father William (sometimes called William III)is said to have emigrated to America from Whiltshire, England aboard the "George" in 1617. The record goes back to William Ball (William Ball I) who is said to have been born about 1450 in Berkshire, England. This information is totally secondary sourced based primarily on the following: Ancestors of Andrew Case Harding: http://www.familytreemaker.com/users/h/a/r/John--C-Harding/GENE20-0013.html --beginning at Generation 8, I quickly stepped back all the way to William I, at Generation 19. |
