Capt. John Shelton (Chilton) (son of William Shelton and Hannah Armistead) died September 11, 1777. He married Eleanor Parks, daughter of William Parks.

Notes for Capt. John Shelton (Chilton):
Enlisted in revolutionary war January 1, 1777 and was Captain of
Calvary. He was killed at Brandywine September 11, 1777 and Bounty
Warrants were signed by sons James and Thomas. Inherited "Rural
Plains" and was in possession of "Currioman" when he died.
