Bartlett's In Coomb's Cove, Fortune Bay, Newfoundland:
Sources
1. age, Edward's age was given at 29 at marriage- so born 1839, which makes him much older than the parish census gave. There's a third version of his age: when he died (at Coomb's Cove) in 1915, his age was given as 79 so b. 1836. Of the three, the age at marriage is the likeliest to be correct. His death certificate also says that he was born at Blanchet.
2. Employment, In his earlier years Edward was described as a fisherman. In his later years he was described as ferryman or mail carrier, so it seems that he got little government jobs to keep him in his retirement.
3. married by William K White (Anglican priest at Harbour Breton 1854-1886. Bride and Groom marked with crosses rather than signing - with one exception, so did all the children and the people they married.

They moved to Little Bay West after marriage. Margaret died there in 1893 and George probably died before 1891.
