Henry Howard Aldous (son of William Aldous and Mary Ann) was born 1859 in Stroud, Kent, and died date unknown. He married Alice Jane Tugwell on September 03, 1887 in River Court Wesleyan Chapel, Fulham, daughter of Thomas Tugwell and Elizabeth Allen.

This fairly grand looking old hotel has two barrooms, one designated for dining and the other, which we preferred, dedicated to boozing. It has been done up in a nice mellow kind of way - lots of silly prints and photos on the walls, which consist of wood paneling and cream painted plaster. This seems to be the place that the older regular drinkers of this end of Kew frequent - not really a young person's pub, but we liked it.
