Daddy B,
Jessica Cahoon said something very nice about you tonight that I wanted to share with you. We were talking in Wednesday night Bible class about Joseph becoming second-in-command after interpreting Pharoah's dream in Genesis 41. We were discussing the what it was about Joseph that had prepared him for being put into this position of power. There were several good ideas, with people talking about his experience with hard times, his diligence, his organizational skills, his trustworthiness, and his faithfulness through difficulty.
I made the comment that there was clearly something else special about him because the first thing that Pharoah is recorded to have said after Joseph finished speaking to him was, "Can we find anyone like this man, one in whom is the spirit of God?" (Genesis 41:38). I talked about that I have occasionally met people who, after you talk to them for just a couple of minutes, you just know have the spirit of God in them. Joseph must have been one of those people.
After the class, Jessica Cahoon came up to me and mentioned what I said in class. Then she said, "You know, your dad is one of those people. I really miss your parents." I thought that was a pretty special compliment and I just wanted to share it with you. So perhaps there is a modern-day Joseph in our family, and maybe it's not the person who seems to want to talk about it all the time.

Marriage Notes for David Wayne Barton and Rita Gail Howard: We were married in the courthouse in Florence, Alabama by Judge Estes R. Flint. My friend, Marie Alexander went with us as a witness. The other attendant was Neil Duncan a gentleman who worked in the courthouse. We were going to keep our marriage a secret until September but we only kept the secret for a week. Couldn't wait to be together.
