He was born May 15, 1796 in South Carolina or Tennessee, and died Abt. 1887 in Bell County, Kentucky.

A paper purporting to be the last Will & Testament of William H. Evans decd was this day produced in court and proven by the oath of James P. Campbell a subscribing witness thereto and order??? of record as follows
I William H. Evans of the County of Knox, State of Kentucky being of sound reason and disposition of all my mental faculties do hereby revoke all previous bequests and solemly make this my last will & testament. I do hereby give and bequeath to my beloved wife Margaret Evans during the time of her natural life all my personal goods and chattles, together with all the rights unto and profits of any real estate (in case she survives me) and at my decease it is my Will that the following disposition be made of my real estate I give and bequeath to son Wm the proceeds of and price of the farm known as the Fortner farm also one dollar in cash, to my son James the land which he now lives and occupys bounded as follows east of my residence on the waters of Cannon Creek supposed to contain forty acres more or less running in a strate to the low gap. I Will to my son John the land where he now resides being west of my residence supposed to contain forty acres more or less bounded as follows Beginning at the conditional line running ???? west ???? at Cliffs north west course to James R Hewstons line. To my son Robert forty acres more or less beginning at the head of the deer fork hollow running north down the Wilburn hill running down the spur to my old field to the ???? hill running down the hollow in said field to the mill branch, I will to my son Inggram all the land lying between Roberts and Johns together with the mills; I will to my daughter one dollar to my daughter Nancy one ewe, to my daughter Queen one dollar, to my daughter Jane the house in which she now resides and as much of my real Estate as will support her and her two children so long as she remains a widow; to my daughter Sally one Ewe to my daughter Lucinda one Ewe to my daughter Emily bmy cupboards. The property remaining at my wifes decease to be divided equally between my daughters Margaret and Emily. To my son James who has been mentioned before my steel ???? also my gun to my son Inggram all my farming utentials and carpenter tools I wish to equally divided between my five sons or wives successors. In witness whereof I have here unto set my hand and seal this 14th day of December A.D. 1862.
