Notes for JULIUS WRONSKY:
Julius died of cancer, according to a newspaper clipping. His wife, Julie, then accompanied her 4 sons to South Africa. She and Ludwig owned a confectionery shop in Plein street.

Religion - Russian Jew.
Place of birth of children - Berlin, "Prussia, Kingdom" - according to Ludwigs' Naturalization application.

Notes for JULIA:
Information from a newspaper clipping written about Lily Wronsky states that her grandmother, Julia Wronsky, a confectioner with her own shop in Cape Town in the late 1800's, in fact came to South Africa with her 4 sons. There is record of her, Ludwig, Fritz and Wilhelm (not Erich) in the voters list of 1860. I have found Ludwig's grave in Maitland cemetery but as yet, not Julie's. I can also (!!) not find any record of their arrival in SA. It is quite exasperating.

According to Ancestry24, Julia, Eric and Wilhelm arrived in Cape Town on the ship Olympus, on the 27th September 1881.

In 1884 Madame WRONSKY closed her bun shop in Plein Street and opened t
first Adderley Street cafe known as Wronsky?s. She served coffee and cream
at 4pm. After-theatre suppers were also offered, as she stayed open at
night and on Sundays. The cafe seated 40. Her confectioner, Heinrich KAMP,
bought the business when she retired. It closed down in 1909. Another
popular stop was Dix?s, a cafe opened in the late 1890s by Harry DIX.
