John H. Cambridge and Matilda Delaney Malson

The Cambridge family reunion has been held annually for the past 80 years -- ever since our grandmother's (wife of Samuel Augustus) Honor Christina Swinford Cambridge's 65th birthday. She was a formidable woman and made her family promise to meet each year. This year's reunion will be held June 10, 2001 at Secor, Illinois. Bring Covered Dish. We eat about noon.

Researching the Cambridge family. John Cambridge married Matilda Malson and lived in Hancock County, Indiana and are believed to have come from Maryland originally. After John's death, three sons of John: Samuel, Edwin and Joshua Cambridge came to Illinois with their mother. Edwin settled in Effingham, while Samuel and Joshua settled in Douglas County, Illinois.

Allied families included in my research are ERNST, MALSEN, SIEVERS, WATERS, SWINFORD (all in Douglas County around 1880).
