Descendants of Yitzchak Bandrymer Barnett

Updated February 12, 2009

This the the family tree of the descendants of Joseph Bandrymer and especially one of his sons - Yitzcak(other spelling variations are Bandremer, Bandrimer, Bandriemer, Bandriemor, Bandryner)

Yitzcak married Hinde Bulman in 1886 (Nowy Miastro, Warszawa Gubernia,Poland) The Bulman's were from Nowy Miastro and the Bandrymers were from Rozan (Rozhan)in the Lomza District, Poland. Before living in Rozan, Yitzchak's parents, Joseph and Rucha Liba and thier older children were living in Ostrow Mazowiecka.

Yitzchak came to the US from Rozan, Poland. According to family history, he returned to Poland several times during the early part of the century. I have found only 2 instances. The first in 1907 and then again he reentered the country in 1913. His wife came here in 1920. He is known to have several brothers, Arja, Leisor Wolf, Mendel, Chaim, and Belish and sisters Feiga Dwojra and Esther.

Found records that all came to the US except no records found for Feiga Dwojra Bandrymer( may have gone to Africa) or Ester (Bandrymer) Gotlieb, who's husband Froim Mosiek Gotlieb came in 1911,

Arja was married to Channe and had children Chaje, Bail, Jospe and may have gone with the English name Aaron or Ari.
Leisor Wolf(was called Wolf) married to Blanche (children Harry and Gussie) Child Fanny may have been Harry's daughter or Wolf's
Belish, a baker,(known as Beny) was married to a Freida Freidman and had 3 children, Joseph, Rebecca and Morris.
Chaim was married to Rivka Gulman and had 2 childre, Malka and Ella.
Mendel, a baker.. no other info
Esther married Froim Moshe Gotlieb.

The Barnett name was adapted by his brother(s) before Yitzchak came in 1907. Yitzchak was in the silk-linings(for coats) business in NY.
Their sons were: Sam, Joseph, Harry, and a daughter, Leya (Tante Laiche to us!) who immigrated to Columbia, South America. Sam lived in Pultusk, and Joseph in Serock before coming to the US

Addresses of the Yitzcak and his brothers were shown as during the early 1900's as
229 Broozisko (?)NY, 64-6 Suffolk St. NY, 14 Clinton St. NY, 80 Norfork St NY,
88 Attorney St NY, all of these except the first address are within a few blocks of each other in the lower east side of Manhattan, NYC

My Grandfather was Joseph who came to the US, with $10 in his pocket, through Boston on March 2, 1921. He traveled with his younger brother, Harry, on board the S.S. Saxonia. The ship left London (2/17/1921)bound for NY but was diverted to Boston for unloading. According to historical news reports, there were several typhus cases found aboard passengers in early February, 1921 in NY. The city moved to decontaminate and isolate passengers until the 12 day incubation period of the disease had passed, thus causing a great backlog on the Ellis Island health facilities. To ease the situation, many ships were divert to other ports.
My Grandmother, Gisha Anna Nowak Bandrymer, came to the US with her 5 young children, Aaron (my father), Alex, Eva (Ackerman), Miriam (Goldberg) and Max in 1927 from Serock, Poland. Gisha's mother, Sura also traveled with them. They left Liverpool Sept. 24,1927 and arrived in NY on Oct.2,1927 on the SS Carinthia.
