4. WILLIAM2 BARRY (MICHAEL1) was born February 01, 1839 in Brueckakeen, County Cork, Ireland, and died November 18, 1871 in Westfield, Massachusetts. He married MARY LAWTON.

ILLIAM BARRY:
-William was baptised in Brueckakeem, Parish Lisgool, County Cork, Ireland on February 1, 1839. The priest is unknown, but the sponsers were William, or Gulielmus, (The latin version of William) Barry and Johanna Sweeney.
-William first shows up on the census in 1870. At this time he was listed as 28 years of age and was a farmer, most likely a laborer, with a personal estate worth 200 dollars. He owned no land. His wife was Mary and was a couple of years younger. Both could not read or write. They had three sons, Morris, Richard and Michael, and a daughter Nellie. It may be that Nellie and Michael were twins. All were born in Massachusetts.
-William died in 1871 from consumption.
-His tombstone in St Mary's Cememtery in Westfield, Massachusetts reads " William Barry Born in Co. Cork, Ireland Died Nov. 18, 1871 Age 28 Requiescat in Pace Erected by his affectionate wife Mary "
-He was also a Civil War veteran as there is a plaque for the "GAR 1861-1865"
(Grand Army Of The Republic...a civil war veteran's association) at his grave.

"The funeral for Maurice F. Barry was largely attended Friday morning from St. Mary's church. The Father Matthew society, of which the deceased was a member, turned out to the number of forty, and marched ina body to the cemetery."
