Catherine Allaire was born 1689 in New Rochelle, Westchester County, NY, and died Bef. September 25, 1765 in Mamaroneck, Westchester County, NY. She married Pierre BARBERIE, son of Jean BARBERIE and De Lancey.
Notes for Catherine Allaire: Her husband, Peter (Pierre) left her plantations, houses, land and tenements in New Rochelle for her lifetime and he made his son, John and his daughters, Frances and Elizabeth residual legatees. In 1753, at the time of the death of her brother, Andre (Andrew), Catherine was living in New Rochelle, NY. Andre left Catherine in his will, his negro, Robin. Catherine in her will left to her brother, Alexander Allaire, her French Bible and 50 pounds to be paid 12 months after her decease. She left to her stepdaughter, Elizabeth Barberie, her gold watch and all her wearing apparell. She left to her niece, Elizabeth Allaire, the posthumous daughter of her brother, Andrew Allaire, the whole furniture of my room, and my plate and all my jewels and trinkets. She left to her stepdaughter, Elizabeth Barberie, and my niece, Elizabeth Allaire, after my funeral expenses and legacies are paid, all the remainder of my estate, real and personal, equally. But it is to be understood that my stepdaughter Elizabeth shall enjoy the whole during her widowhood, and I make her executor.
