Family History

Fathers Side:
BARTELT
Recently, I have found that my Bartelt ancestors came from Pomerania in and around Stettin (which is now called Szczecin in Poland). An IGI marriage record found on www.familysearch.org lists a Michael Friedrich (Wilhelm) Bartelt marrying a Wilhemine Gruetzmacher in Priemhausen, Stadt Naugard, Pommern on . Priemhausen now called Przemocze, Poland. Wilhelm and Minnie had 9 children. Gottlieb, the oldest emigrated to the US (Marathon County, WI ) in 1882 aboard the Frisia. Gottlieb and his mother Minnie are reported to have both been born in Franzfelde, Pomerania. All the places mentioned are within 30 miles of each other in NW Germany and NE Poland. He married Emma Gralow on Sept 14, 1883.

In the 1900 and 1910 Census, Gottlieb and most of his children were living in the town of Stettin, in Marathon County Wisconsin.

GRALOW
The Gralow's came from Gross Saboe, Kreis Narguard, Germany and settled in Marathon County, Wisconsin. Earliest ancestor researched... Friedrich August Gralow (1827-1902)

HEISE
The Heise's came from Prussia and also settled in the Rib Falls / Marathon County area of Wisconsin. Earliest ancestor researched... August Heise (1832-1918)

KIRCHNER
The Kirchners came from Weimar - Saxony, Germany and settled in Nichols, Iowa.
Earliest ancestor researched... Christian Kirchner born about 1800.

LENZ
The Lenz's came from Hessen Darmstad, Germany and settled in Nichols, Iowa
Earliest ancestor researched... Valentine Lenz (1817-1898)

MAPES
Earliest ancestor researched... Joseph Mapes born abt. 1785. Joseph Mapes came to York County, Ontario, Canada in 1805. We still have no connection to the New York Mapes that came over in 1650.

Mothers Side:
SCHROEDER
The Schroeders are from St. Louis, Missouri. Earliest Ancestor Recorded... Peter Schroeder born 1873 in Essen Germany. Married Augusta Viehman.

DRURY
The Drurys decend from English and Scottish Royalty and then later came moved to Rougham, Dry Docking, St. Mary's County, MD, Prairie Du Rocher, ILL, and finally mostly live in and around Ste. Genevieve, MO.

Schirrhein, Alsace to Kelso, MO

CAR(R)ON
Quebec, Canada to Ste. Genevieve, MO
