      I give and bequeath to my sister Mary Grantham two hundred dollars to be paid by my Executor out of the monies arising from the sale of my perishable Estate, such negroes as may not be otherwise disposed of or any other money that may come into the hands of my executor. I also give and bequeath to Lydia Donaldson the younger two hundred dollars to be paid her in the same manner as that to Mary Grantham. The remainder of my estate of whatever kind or nature whatsoever I give to my beloved daughter Helen Barclift, her heirs and assigns.
      I nominate and appoint my friend Henry A Donaldson of Edenton guardian to my daughter and also executor to this my last will and testament. And in case my daughter Helen should die without lawful issue of her body, it is my will and desire that the property left her be sold or as much thereof as will amount to twenty-five hundred dollars, ten hundred of which I give to Lydia Donaldson the younger and the remaining fifteen hundred dollars to Lydia Donaldson the elder to them and their heirs forever. The balance after paying those two legacies I give to Mary Grantham and her heirs forever.
      In witness whereof I the said Ur Barclift to this my last will and testament have hereunto set my hand and seal this third day of March in the year of our Lord One Thousand eight hundred and Seven.
