Notes for Mae Howell: Mae used to spank her grandkids by making them bend over the bathtub. With their heads down in the tub she would roll up a newspaper and wack half on the kids behind and the other half on the tub. It made such a huge noise that it really "hurt" the grandkids. It hurt their feelings more than anything. She never had to do it very often.
Mae raised most of her grandkids and one of her great-grandkids as well. She was a big hearted woman and everyone called her Grandmother fondly.
