PALMYRA ­

Ellen (Maureen) Lovelace, 57, of rural Palmyra, died at 2:35 p.m., Jan. 5, 1998, at her residence.

Funeral services for Mrs. Lovelace will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel in Palmyra. The Rev. David Johnson will officiate. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Palmyra.

Mrs. Lovelace was born Feb. 7, 1940, in Quincy, Ill., to Maurice and Elsie Haydon Beckgerd.

She was married Aug. 17, 1958, in Palmyra, to Lloyd Edwin Lovelace. He preceded her in death Feb. 10, 1994.

Survivors include two daughters, Kaye Lovelace and Nancy Goellner, both of Palmyra; two sons, Mark and Michael Lovelace, both of Palmyra; her mother, Elsie Beckgerd of Palmyra; one brother, Paul Beckgerd of Evansville, Ind.; and seven grandchildren, Mark Kroeger, Joe Kroeger, Rebecca Goellner, Sarah Goellner, Shelby Lovelace, Amber Johnson and Carley Lovelace, all of Palmyra.

She was preceded in death one daughter, Julie Ann Lovelace.

Mrs. Lovelace was a retired director and teacher for the Palmyra Head Start Center with more than 25 years of service. She was a graduate of Palmyra High School, and attended nurses training at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Ill. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Palmyra and a volunteer for the Maple Lawn Nursing Home in Palmyra.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Quincy Dyalisis Unit or to the Zion Lutheran Church in Palmyra.

Pallbearers will be Mark Lovelace, Bill Goellner, Carmen Hayden, Kenny Lovelace, Mark Alan Kroeger and Pete Fee.

Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Kroeger, Shelby Lovelace, Richard Goellner, Roger Straus and Mike Lovelace.
