She married JOHN STEMPER 06 Jan 1904 in White Sulphur Springs, MT. He was born Unknown in an Englishman; a meat cutter for Swift & Co., and died Abt. 1961 in Baton Rouge, LA.

Notes for CLARA ANN GROUNDS:
Clara Grounds met and married John Stemper, an Englishman, in Montana where Clara had gone to work in a laundry and John had just come from the gold fields of the Kondyke.

Their daughter, Marie was born in Montana in 1904, and their other children (unnamed) were born in Phoenix, AZ, Homeland, GA, and Sanford, FL. John Stemper was a butcher by trade, and owned grocery stores, but had a wanderlust. In 1925 he left his wife and family and was not heard of again until 1961, just a few months before his death. His children were able to visit with him in Baton Rouge, LA.
