Louie Ann was a "child of the prairie and a child of the Texas frontier." She married a farmer from Illinois who homesteaded in No-Man's Land of the Oklahoma Territory.

Louie Ann lived all her life in the Panhandle of Texas and Oklahoma. Her early childhood was spent on her uncle's ranch on the Palo Duro creek near Old Hansford. The family moved by wagon from a sod house on the ranch to Guymon, Oklahoma, in 1904. The Goodnight family home was located adjacent to the George Ellison home on North Roosevelt, presently marking the parking lot of the First Baptist Church of Guymon.

She graduated from Guymon High School in the class of 1912, and later worked in the Model Store and played piano at the skating rink. She attended business school in Amarillo, Texas, and kept books for the White and Kirk department store. She later returned to Guymon and sold life insurance to farmers for the American Insurance Union. When the Huaagoton gas field was opened, she was offered a job in the oil and gas leasing business in Boise City. She moved to Boise City where she was employed by a title abstract company and rented a room in the home of its owners. It was there she met Harry D. Adams.

She was well known throughout the county for her 37 years of service in the office of County Clerk of Texas County, which began when she and seven other women from Hooker, Oklahoma, commuted to help with the modernization of county records in 1936. She retired in 1973.

Louie Ann Adams was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church, and a member of Chapter AM of the P.E.O.

Notes for HARRY D. ADAMS:
Harry Adams was born in Taylorville, Illinois in 1883 and homesteaded northwest of Hooker in 1904. He served as an elected mayor of Hooker in the 1930s. The Adams family made their home in Hooker during the Depression in a small, four-room house, a place where tramps could find a meal. They moved to Guymon in 1942, where Harry died 7 Jan 1961.

Notes from Robert Adams stated that Jim abandoned his family during the trying days of the Depression and worked in the Merchant Marines, knocking about the world until the end of World War II. He died around 1960 in San Francisco.

(Note also that Rosemary had Donna Lee's birth date as 1959, which doesn't seem likely given the above information.)

Robert Adams states that Helen married twice and Ted Oliver was a second marriage. Ted was not a good provider and the family suffered. He died about 20 years ago (ca 1974) and Helen had a stroke and went to live with Robert Adams' mother for about 20 years. She died in 1994 in Guymon.

Bo Oliver married and lived in Dallas, Texas, where he sold golf goods to pro shops. He was an excellent athlete in high school in Amarillo and a good golfer. He had several children.
