LLIE MALONE:
Allie Malone Wallace's obituary stated she lived at 1011 Chestnut, Clarkston, Washington. She was born in the Valentine area of Garfield County, Washington, and went to school and spent her early years there.

She married Clarence Malone, who served as sheriff of Asotin County, Washington, and they lived there until 1922. They lvied in Garden Gulch area near Lapuai until 1932, then moved to Clarkston. She was a member of the Christian Church and of several orders.

This child was known only as "daughter" until Connie Lenzen sent information that her name was Virginia, and that she married Harvey Howlett. Previous information is that the Howlett gentleman's name was Chester. This is perhaps one and the same person, or there may be two daughters who married two Howletts.

DWIN DAVIE MARTIN:
Edwin Davie Martin was born a twin on December 1, 1902 in Midlothian, Ellis County, Texas. His twin brother, Edward, did not survive.

Edwin was educated at Lubbock High School in Lubbock, Texas and graduated from Abilene Christian College with an A.B. degree in education.

He pursued a career in education, beginning as an English teacher and principal in public schools at Mineral Wells, Texas 1923-1926.

During the summers of 1925 and 1926, Edwin taught education at Texas A & M. In 1926, he became Superintendent, A & M Consolidated, and earned his master's degree in Rural Education at Texas A & M 1927-1928.

In the summer of 1929, Edwin taught English at Abilene Christian College.

In 1938-41, Edwin earned his doctorate in Education at Colorado Sate College of Education. He also studied at the University of Texas, Texas Technological College, and West Texas State Teachers College.

Edwin and his wife, Jewell McDonald, moved to Houston, Texas, where he was employed by the Houston Independent public school system from 1928-1966, serving as Assistant Principal of Hamilton Junior High School from 1928-1932; Assistant Principal of Reagan Senior High School 1932-1936; Principal of Hamilton Junior High School, 1936-1942.

From 1942-1946, Edwin took military leave from the school district and was assigned to the U.S. Armed Forces Institute during World War II. Following the war, he entered the U.S. Air Force Reserve and retired as a LtCol.

Back with the Houston Independent School District, Edwin was Director of Research from 1946-1955 and Deputy Superintendent of Secondary Schools from 1955 to 1966.

From 1967 to 1972, Edwin was Professor of Education at Houston Baptist University.

He received the following honors:

EWELL MCDONALD:
Jewell McDonald Martin suffered from Alzheimer's disease, but never evidenced any of the more disturbing personality traits common to the illness. Her nephew said she was "very sweet" until the end of her life. Her husband of nearly 70 years cared for her during these years of her life.
