Notes for A
MELIA BOYDSTUN:
Date for this child found in LDS Ancestral files sent to me in March 1998 by Richard Jennings of Austin, Texas.

Amelia Glasgo is mentioned in her father's will. A Jeremiah Glasgo is a witness to the will. See notes on David Boydston (Amelia's father) and also John Glasgo, Jr.

Notes for J
OHN GLASGO, JR.:
Jerry Glasgo - jaglasgo@hotmail.com - emailed me in March 2004 with new information on Jeremiah Glasgo:

I came across your User Home Page on Family Tree Maker. com on the Boyston Line. and found it quite helpful on filling in some of the blanks on my research. I have been doing some research on this line that ties in with my line. It seems that Amelia Boydston was married to John Glasgo Jr. and not Jeremiah Glasgo. The Jeremiah Glasgo listed as a witness to David's will was I think a brother to John Jr. I have no documentation on this but he is either a brother or uncle to John Jr.

Notes from Lynette Kurcina 5 Jun 1999 (LIPIKAS@aol.com):

"In the month of August, 1825, David Boydston and Esther A. Boydston, his wife, made a joint deed of trust for the Methodist Episcopal Church for the site upon which the past and present church now stands. It was thus in 1825 that the first Methodist Episcopal society this side of the Mason and Dixon line had its birth. A memorial window was placed in that church on which the names of Boaz and Mary Willey Boydston and their twelve children who grew to maturity are inscribed."

Lyn goes on to say that her father visited the church and brought her a copy of the church history. She does not give the location of the church, but it is assumed to be in Pennsylvania. She later writes and says the Methodist Episcopal Church is in Mount Morris, Pennsylvania.

Lyn gives the name of this ancestor as "Boaz Burris Boydston."

In March 2000, she write saying she is still researching and has found Boaz Burris in Duck Creek, Delaware.

Notes for M
ARY WILLEY:
Previous information was that Mary was born in Delaware Delaware 21 Mar 1794. Carol Jones, a descendant (granny@capecod.net) writes 10 Dec 1998 to tell that "Polly" was the daughter of Rev. John Willey and Mary "Polly" Griffith. Mary Willey was born 21 Feb 1793 in Monongalia, VA and was married 17 Jan 1813 in Zanesville, OH, died 11 Feb 1866 in Greene County, Pennsylvania.

Carol continues that Mary was one of 8 children, and that Mary's older brother, Curtis Willey was her 3rd great grandfather.

Lynette Kurcina (LIPIKAS@aol.com) writes in March 2000:

"I think Mary Willey was born in Delaware. I'm still researching this. Here's a paragraph from "The History of Monongalia County" by Wiley, in the book "The Monongalia Story" by Earl L. Core:

===
Settlement by the Willey Family

In 1781, according to Wiley, William Willey came from Delaware to settle near Collins Ferry, on the east side of the Monongahela. The Willeys had emigrated from England prior to the Revolutionary War.

The family soon moved across the river to the site of Cassville and later to Buffalo Creek, near the site of Farmington.

'His children, who were all born in Delaware,' say Wiley, were:

'Waitman, a farmer; John, a farmer and local preacher; Betsey, who intermarried with Nathan Johnson; Bridget, who intermarried with Booz Burrows, and Wm. Willey. Waitman and John went to Ohio. William Willey was born in 1766; came with his father in 1781, and was in Wayne's campaign against the Indians. He was married three times. His first wife was Mollie Johnson; they had one child, William J. Willey, who was in the House of Delegates and the Senate of Virginia, and who moved to Missouri... William Willey's second wife was Sarah Barnes. They had one child, ex-United States Senator Waitman T. Willey... William Willey's third wife was Mary Shields.'
===

I've found records of George and David Boydstone in Monongalia County and Boaz Burris/Burroughs, along with others."
