(William is gone from home; Sarah Ann has married; where are other
two daughters, who would be age 10-15 by now? It's possible they
      have married or died.)

Bradford Boydston age 26 b. MO**
**This is the right age to be Jared B./Perry B. son of Jacob & Elizabeth Boydston.

To further the confusion, there is the matter of the Stallard families discussed in notes at William Boydston, brother of Jacob Boydston.

The only other clue to Jacob Boydston is the following:
Warrant Book, Platte Co., MO
P. R. Waggener, County Clerk, lists monies paid out by the County Clerk on 1 Feb 1864:
$100 to Jacob Boyston
$100 to William Boydston
$100 to Daniel G. Lutes
on 14 Dec 1865:
$110 to Elizabeth J. Boydston

(Note: the uniformity of the payments suggests a division of some kind. Daniel G. Lutes is the grandson of Jacob Boydston's sister, Elizabeth (Boydston) McDaniel. The identity of the other three is uncertain.)

It is not known when Jacob died, or where he is buried.

Children of J
ACOB BOYDSTON and ELIZABETH .. are:

  v.   DAUGHTER BOYDSTON, b. Abt. 1836, Clay or Platte Co, MO; d. Unknown.
  Notes for DAUGHTER BOYDSTON:
Because this daughter appeared only on the 1840 Census as a female age 0-5, and was gone by the 1850 Census of Platte County, I estimated birth closer to 1835, which would allow a marriage by 1860. Quite possibly, this is incorrect.

vi.   JOSEPH M. BOYDSTON, b. 1837, prob Clay Co, MO; d. Unknown; m. MARTHA JANE POWELL, 31 Jan 1864, Platte Co, MO; b. Bef. 1847, prob b Indiana; d. Unknown.

** Ruth Walton believes this is Martha Powell living with her uncle.

vii.   DAUGHTER BOYDSTON, b. Abt. 1838, Clay or Platte Co, MO; d. Unknown.
  Notes for DAUGHTER BOYDSTON:
Because this daughter appeared only on the 1840 Census as a female age 0-5, and was gone by the 1850 Census of Platte County, I estimated birth closer to 1835, which would allow a marriage by 1860. Quite possibly, this is incorrect.

viii.   JARED BRADFORD BOYDSTON, b. 1844, Platte Co, MO (See notes); d. Unknown.
  Notes for JARED BRADFORD BOYDSTON:
Called Jared B. on 1850 Census, age 6; Perry B. on 1860 Census, age 16. On 1870 Census, there is a Bradford Boydston, age 26, the right age to be this son of Jacob & Elizabeth Boydston. See notes at Jacob Boydston for more information.
