Notes for JOHN BENJAMIN GREEN BOYDSTON:
"Benjamin" for "B" comes from FTM tree of Samantha Boydstun. She lists birth location (previously had only Illinois) as well as death occurring in Pueblo, Pueblo County, Colorado, on 31 Jul 1897. She also gives date of marriage. Since children later supplied by Chuck Boystun are born after the supposed death date of 1897, I have used the death date supplied by Chuck.

Chuck Boydstun supplies the same location for the death, but lists the date of death as 25 Jun 1930. Joe Winsell shows a birth date of 13 Dec 1863 (8 months after the birth of sister Mary Lee), which surely is a typographical error.

Sarah may have been born in Warren County, Illinois, but this is around the time the family began their move to Texas, so the birth location is uncertain, but believed to be Illinois.

Joe Winsell shows that Sarah died in Norwood, Missouri, 19 Jan 1946. Prior to that, she apparently lived in Kansas.

James Riley Boydstun went to Kansas, but returned to Rockdale, Texas, and later Fort Worth, Texas. Joe Winsell shows that he died in Laurel Land, but this is the name of a cemetery in Fort Worth, so he apparently died there and is buried at Laurel Land.

Margaret is Frank's mother, living with his family. Census was sent by Nancy Yeakel Bender who did not identify the location of the record, but it is assumed to be Fort Scott, Kansas.

Oswego, KS), and died 12 Jun 1947 in Pawhuska, Osage Co, OK.

Notes for LENA MARGARET BOYDSTON:
Although Lena apparently married Gilbert Fred Wyrick, her son seems to bear her maiden name. Janie M. Gaw Frost says that the her mother, Ruth, is William's half sister.

The death location and date come from Joe Winsell.

Notes for GILBERT FREDERICK WYRRICK:
Joe Winsell located Gilbert's funeral record which gives additional information that he died of cerebral thrombosis, and had been a section laborer for the Kansas City Southern Railroad.

Gilbert was born, according to the record, 29 Jan 1890 in Berryville, Arkansas, and died at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, Missouri on 16 Nov 1862. He was 72 years, 9 months and 18 days of age. The Rev. Gail Schultz of Baxter Springs, Kansas, conducted the funeral, and burial was at Forest Park Cemetery.

His funeral was held on Monday 19 Nov 1962. The record listed the following relatives:

The problem is that Joe Winsell does not give the location of the burial, which seems to be local to the funeral home. One of the items on the record included a trip from Springfield, which shows the burial was not in Springfield. A check of streets and addresses in Arcadia and Pittsburg, Kansas did not yield any clues. The name of the funeral home is not shown on the record. A current listing for a Charles Wyrick was found on S. Park Street in Joplin, Missouri (see above), and I believe the addresses refer to Joplin local addresses.

Laura's obituary appeared in the 16 Aug 1979 issue of the Claremore, Oklahoma, "The Daily Progress."

Laura Bell McMahan

Laura Bell McMahan of Rt. 1, Chelsea, died Wednesday morning in Claremore Health Center. She was 83.

Services are set for 3 p.m. Saturday at Chelsea at First Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Chelsea Cemetery under the direction of Musgrove-Merciott-Smith Funeral Home.

Mrs. McMahan was born Aug. 31, 1895 in Columbus, Kans. to Charles and Jennie Harris Boydston. She was married to William Jasper McMahan in Columbus, Kans., in 1912. He preceeded her in death in 1966.

Mrs. McMahan had lived in this area 30 years, coming from Osage County. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Chelsea.

Surviving are four sons, William McMahan, Melton McMahan, and Bobby McMahan of Chelsea, and Charlie McMahan of Clearwater, Kans.; two daughters, Emma Winsell of Dinsey and Lenora Doty of Chelsea; 23 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.
