268. NANCY⁸ FUGATE (DIANA⁷ BOYDSTON, NATHANIEL⁶, WILLIAM⁵, DAVID⁴, WILLIAM³ BOYLSTON, THOMAS², THOMAS¹) was born Abt. 1830 in Cocke Co, TN, and died Bet. 1867 - 1869. She married LEVI GREEN 21 May 1851 in Weston, Platte Co, MO, son of .. GREEN and NANCY FORD. He was born 20 Feb 1832 in Virginia, and died 14 Jan 1906 in Platte Co, MO; bd Baber Cemetery, Platte Co, MO.

Notes for NANCY FUGATE:
Ruth Walton gives the approximate date of death, and says that Noah remarried in 1872. This does not allow for the birth of Mary, but I have left her with the first marriage as she was 10 years old on the 1880 census, and if Noah married the second time in 1872, she could not be a child of the second marriage.

Notes for LEVI GREEN:
A biography of Levi Green is apparently printed in "Annals of Platte County, Missouri, From its Exploration Down to June 1, 1897: With Genealogies of its Noted Families, and Sketches of its Pioneers and Distinguished People" published by Hudson-Kimberky 1897, 5th reprint by Platte County Historical Society. Page 470, 746-747. States Nancy Fugate was Levi's first wife. Second wife unknown.

Ruth Walton supplies name of second wife -- Mary Jane (Bass?) Bailey, and the date of marriage, 1872. She believes several of the younger children are Mary Jane's. I have moved the ones born after 1872 to Mary Jane.

Levi Green served the Union Army as a private in Company A, 4th Cavalry, Missouri State Militia, organized at St. Joseph under Capt. Burton H. Phelps in February 1862.

The 1870 census of Platte County, Missouri Twp. 53, Range 34, Fam. #1901 shows Levi's mother, Nancy (age 95) living with him and his family.

Notes for NOAH GREEN:
Note: Ruth Walton has in her notes that Noah second married Rosa King; however, she also says that John W. Green, Noah's brother, married Rosa King. I have asked her for clarification on this, and have not entered her as a spouse of Noah.

In July 1999, Ruth reports that "Paxton" says that Noah's second wife "was a King," and that she has not record of Rosa (relating to Noah), only that she was a King. Paxton also says that they had 3 children.

Noah is found on the 1880 census of Platte County, MO with wife Zerilda (age 18, b. MO, parents b. KY), living next to his parents in Preston. His name is spelled "Greene" on the census.

Notes for ZERILDA ROY:
According to the 1880 census of Platte County (see Levi Green notes), Zerilda's parents were born in Kentucky.

Notes for JOHN FRANKLIN MARION FUGATE:
Ruth Walton's notes have the same marriage date as death date for John Franklin Marion Fugate. One is probably incorrect. As this couple had a number of children, I am guessing the date applies to the marriage, not the death, of J. F. M. Fugate.

She lists as sources for information:
Marriage records, officiant, S. H. Hudspeth. The couple were first cousins, his mother and her father being siblings.

Mary D. Fugate correspondence.

Cemetery Records of Platte County, in which no dates appear for Nancy Boydston Fugate, and perhaps the same is true for her husband.

Notes for ELENOR FUGATE:
On the 1850 census of Platte County, Nelly and Polly are both listed as 16 years old. It is assumed they are twins.

Ruth Walton makes the assumption that Ellen Ford listed in Ezekiel and Dianna Fuget's household in the 1860 census of Platte County, Green Township, #964, is their daughter, Nelly.
