| New!! I found Sophia Lichtsinns in Germany. A new Hink relative was discovered by Barbara Reedy from her aunt's letters from "Sister Katie" to Carrie Hink Bayless. She has ID'ed her as Annie C. Hink McCoy b.December 1854, and I've added her to the database. We are not sure if she's Sophia Liehtsens Hink's child or if she's Margaret Hink's. Any info is appreciated! I worked on the Frasers, Simmons & Sapps, and at least got the easy stuff entered. :-) Info from Morgan County Archives - Cotaco Alabama for Reuben Jr. and his family entered. 2 photos identified as Eliza May Bayless and Martin L. Bayless & his wife Helen in California - they are included in the uploaded data. Tombstone photos from Cherokee Baptist Cemetery and Old Dutch Meeting House Cemetery. The Bayless info is the result of about 20 years of research by my late cousin Tony Bayless. He died unexpectedly in 1997, and all his files were stored until I volunteered to take on the project. I don't plan to put a lot of energy into duplicating the John Bayless of 1617 data down to where Howard Green Bayles's books leave off. I am mainly concerned with the 1716 Daniel Bayles and Johanna Lake, and their children, especially Reuben Bayles and Margaret Lucas. I found the old Bayless family Bible! :-) Although it has entries for Reuben and Margaret, I believe it is newer than that. It looks to be published from the 1880s and probably belonged to Bird and Eliza. The Reuben & Margaret pages and the Daniel & Mary pages are all in the same handwriting as the Bird & Eliza page, as if that info was copied from another older Bible. There is a whole page on the May family in the same handwriting, that also leads me to believe the Bible was Eliza's. The next set of handwriting is very distinctly German, and could only belong to Caroline Hink. You can see the scanned images at: http://www.davidandsherry.com/Genealogy/BirdElizaBible Transcriptions of this Bible were published in the WAGS Bulletin and the TN GenWEB page. I am still working on the pictures, I need help identifying them. I've used the book from Family Chronicle to compare and date the photos, and estimate the ages of the subjects. The known photos are included on the subject's page on this site. Please email me if you can identify any of the photos below. I have tentatively id'ed some and added some new mysteries, so check back regularly! If you see any errors, please let me know, and feel free to use this info in your own research. |
