3. OTTO R.² GUBBE (K(C)ARL¹) was born Bet. January 09 - June, 1882 in Minnesota, USA, and died December 05, 1978 in Battleford, SK, Canada. He married MARY MARGERY MEREDITH December 23, 1913, daughter of JOHN MEREDITH and MARGERY TEGART.

A CENTURY OF PROGRESS by Selma Gubbe
Otto Gubbe was born on January 9, 1882 in Glencoe County, Minnesota where he received his schooling. In Minot, North Dakota he ranched for several years and in 1907 he and his father Karl, followed his older brother to this district where he homesteaded and subsequently farmed all his life.
On December 23, 1913, he married a young music teacher, Mary Margery Meredith from Jamestown, New York.
All of the 64 years that they were married the couple lived on the original farm land. Both were active in community afffairs.
Otto served on the Board of trustteds for the school District for many years., served as auditor for the Willowmoor Telephone Company and was one of the charter members of the Saskatchewan Wheat Pool.
Both enjoyed music and Otto played violin fo many of the old time dances. Mary Gubbe played piano for the church services and school activities as well as teaching piano to youngsters in the district interested in music.
Otto passed away at the age of 96 on december 5, 1978.
Mary passed away at the age of 94 on April 24, 1979.
