Notes for MARY CRITTENDEN:
Perrin's "History of Kentucky' in an article on Willis Y. Hardin of Indiana, states that Mark Hardin, the grandfather of Willis, came from Pennsylvania to Kentucky among the earliest settlers and died in Fayette County " more tha a half century ago " ( this was written in 1886 ). Mr Perrin was a grandson of Captain William Hardin of Hardinsburg ( 1745 - 1821 ) , and he states that this Mark was a relative of his own family. It appears that he was a son of Mark Hardin and Elizabeth Ashby.
