Notes for I
SAAC HARDIN:
There are at least two schools of thought as to the father of Isaac Hardin . Some think that he was a son of Mark " Horseracer " Hardin and some think that the Mark Hardin that I have listed is his father. My opinion is based on assumption, speculation, guesswork and some circumstantial evidence. I can find no evidence at all that " Horseracer " Hardin was his father .

Almost every Hardin family named a son Mark and that sometimes makes it difficult to trace.

The Kentucky tax records show that Isaac was in Fayette County in 1797 and in Montgomery County in 1802, 1803 and 1805. He bought land in Breckenridge County in 1808 and lived near the Captain William ( Indian Bill ) Hardin family. He appears on the Kentucky tax lists through 1824 . About the year 1825 Isaac moved to Perry County Indiana where he remained.
