I am attempting to trace my ancestry, the family of James William “JW” Beall. He was born 09/10/1833 in Frederick, Maryland, and died 06/23/1921. His wife, Mary A Baker, was born 07/24/1838 in Frederick County, Maryland, and died 07/18/1905. They were married on 01/14/1858. Both died, and are buried, in New Carlisle, Ohio.
James and Mary Beall had ten children:

Amanda Elizabeth Beal-Billet [1860-1937]
William Henry Beal [1862-1941]
Franklin Edward Beal [1864-1902]
Sarah Jane Beal-Rue [1867-1911]
Charles Clemen Beal [1869-1895]
Alva Sylvester Beal [1872-1956]
Oliver Elbert Beal [Bell] [1875-1945] {changed his name}
Oscar [Asta] Albert Beal [1875-1958] {my grandfather}
Ercie [Ursa]Clinton Beal [Bell] [1878-1965] (changed his name)
One of my problems in this research is the spelling of the surname, according to the family bible all were named “BEALL”, all the records I have found show “BEAL” with one “L”. My thought is that the extra “L” was dropped when the family moved to Ohio.
As of April 2005 I have no information, other than birth and death dates, on Laura Virginia, Franklin Edward, and Charles Clemen Beal. Any information I can get on any of my grandfathers siblings, or the ancestors of James William Beall, would be greatly appreciated. If anyone can help, please contact me.
