This book reflects my journey into the past. Into the lives and times of my paternal ancestors. My search to obtain the understanding of how I got to be the person that I am today. To understand better those that have come before me, and to leave some kind of documentation that we were all here, we lived, we loved, we took care of one another the best way we could, and we persevered. Some of us lived through some very troubling times, some very violent times, and some quiet and peaceful times. I hope that this book reflects all of this and more.

Stubbs, Dan Stubbs, Ralph Hayes, Mary and Bob Oberg, Jill Carter Knuth, all of those wonderful Home pages and Web Sites, and everyone else, I wish to thank you all for your help and assistance, your time and patience, and your willingness to share your information with me.
This book is not complete by any stretch of the imagination. I will continue to update and will continue to include many more names in the future. I look forward to continuing this journey into the past, the present, and on into the future.
