Christopher Nicholson, son of Edmund Nicholson, was born in 1638,
and died Sept. 16, 1688
(NC Hist. and Gen. Reg., III, 3, p. 365). On August 17, 1687, he
was executor of the Will of
Daniel Charles in Perquimans Co., NC (idem, I, 2, p. 186). He
married Hannah Rednap, daugh-
ter of Joseph Rednap. She died on Dec. 02, 1678 (idem, III, 3, p.
365). He was in the Perqui-
mans Co. section by 1676, when he was one of the Quakers seized by
Bacon's Rebels (NC
Colonial Records, I, p. 250); this leads to the believe that he may
have first settled in the vic-
inity of Nansemond Co., VA, which was an ancient Quaker stronghold.
He signed a Quaker pet-
ition on July 13, 1679 (idem, I, p. 252). In 1677 he proved his
rights in Albemarle District, NC,
with his wife Hannah Nicholson, Samuel and Hannah Nicholson, and

Sarah Sutton

4. Joseph Nicholson
5. John Nicholson
6. Nathaniel Nicholson
7. Benjamin Nicholson, born Nov. 26, 1678 (idem, III, 2, p. 208). On
Apr 11, 1704, he bought
land in NC (Colonial Records, I, p. 609)

On Apr. 11, 1680, Christopher Nicholson married Ann Atwood, daughter
of Thomas Atwood, of
County Middlesex, England (idem, III, 2, p. 200). On June 16, 1690,
Ann (Atwood) Nicholson
married Richard Dorman (idem, III, 2, p. 204). The children of
Christoper and Ann (Atwood) Nich-
olson were:
1. Elizabeth Nicholson, born Jan. 13, 1681, and died Sept. 11, 1682
(idem, III, 2, p. 365).
2. Sarah Nicholson, born Aug. 15, 1682 (idem, III, 2, p. 211). She
is probably the Sarah Nichol-
son whose estate was proved on Jan. 09, 1705 (NC Colonial
Records, I, p. 619).
3. Elizabeth Ann Nicholson, born Mar. 11, 1683 (idem, III, 2, p.
4. Christopher Nicholson, Jr.
5. Thomas Nicholson, born Feb. 07, 1687, and died Mar. 04, 1687
(idem, III, 2, p. 215; III, 3,
