| Henry Beemer and Descendants: I was able to trace the Beemer Family Tree to Henry Beemer's birth on January 21, 1781 in what is now called Beemerville, Sussex County, New Jersey. Henry Beemer married Mary Elizabeth Spangenberg on February 5, 1807. Henry and Mary (Spangenberg) Beemer had ten children. Henry went to Newton Township, Pennsylvania in the summer of 1818 and homesteaded ten acres of land which was planted in wheat. Henry returned to Sussex County, New Jersey for the winter with his family after which on March 1, 1819, he returned to Newton, Pennsylvania with his family. The fourth child of Henry Beemer was Jesse Beemer, born March 28, 1814 in Sussex County, New Jersey. Jesse Beemer married Hannah Jane VanAuken on October 14, 1838 in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania. Jesse and Hannah (VanAuken) Beemer had three children, the first being Alpheus H. Beemer, born in 1839, probably in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania. Alpheus Beemer met and married Margaret Randolph in the year 1859 in Lee County, Illinois. The second and youngest child of Alpheus and Margaret (Randolph) Beemer was George Henen Beemer, born 1860, in Paw Paw, Lee County, Illinois. George Henen Beemer married Mary Emma Risdon on March 1, 1885 in Iowa County, Iowa. They then moved to Nebraska in 1885. As a small child, I vaguely remember meeting Great Grandma (Risdon) Beemer in Lyons, Burt County, Nebraska. George Henen and Mary (Risdon) Beemer had seven children. The oldest being my Grandfather, Alpheus Henry Beemer, born February 4, 1886 in Cuming County, Nebraska. Alpheus Henry Beemer married Myrtle Effie Loftis on March 29, 1915 in Pender, Nebraska. Alpheus and Myrtle began moving west and settled on a farm in Kit Carson County, Colorado. My father, Wesley Dale Beemer, was born there on September 12, 1921, the third child of Alpheus Henry and Myrtle (Loftis) Beemer. The Alpheus Beemer family moved to Oregon sometime between 1927 and 1930, where a number of the Henry Beemer and Mary (Spangenberg) Beemer descendants still reside. |
