Dear Cousins I must add a few line, to those N_ has written.
The Photos are really a very fine present, and we appreciate themvery much. Wish you had written a word or two, at least, that wemight know how you are all prospiring. We shall conclude, however, that you are all in usual health.
Mary Cobb told us all about her visit at your house; how much sheenjoyed it , etc. Also gave me your photo (Roena) and I have put itin my album by the side of cousin Nate's. I think it is a very goodpicture. I am going to have your fathers and mothers framed to hang[rest of this line is obliterated]...... again this winter - we expecthim to return home in two or three weeks - he is well and smart asever.
Cousin Hubbard's family are in usual health and spirits. Lydia hadbeen teaching school this winter.
We often wish you would make us a visit again. If you ever gowest any more, you must certainly call and see us. I have beenafflicted with sore eyes all winter. They are about well now. Thechildren are attending school.
I would like so much to go to Genoa to [Geneva?] visit myrelatives and you also, but do not know when. Nathan has bought 80acres more land, and will take two or three years to pay for it.Then, perhaps, if Providence favors, we may take life a little easierand be more sociable with our distant friends; in the mean time may wenot hear from you occasionally.
We have a friend her, and they are having music in the parlor,so if I do not write very nicely, just say I was "enchanted", andhurried a little for, really, I do love music, and Annie has beenteasing me to go and sing with her.
The roads are almost intolerable. The bottom nearly almostdropped out. Our winter has been very mild.
Nate, do you remember the very sleety roads over which we went toattend the infair of Cousin Ford? I do, and think we had a nice time.
Now, will not you and Roena write to us? If I could becomeacquainted with Aunt, I believe I could prevail on her to remind youof Cousinly duty! Please excuse me for not filling this sheet andremember me as ever.
Your friend and cousin, Sarah Love and kind wishes to Aunt Elmer says tell cousin Roena that he appreciates the music she sent, very much. Also sends his best wishes to the gri__. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Napoleon Feb. 30 = 1871 Cousin Nathan. To all the family. The photographs came duly to house, not damaged by transition abit. You could not have done us a greater favor. Hence, our warmestthanks. We notice, in looking them over technically, that Auntspicture looks very nice and fresh but Uncles looks as if it was takenfrom an old picture; so it does not look as well as he did, when lastwe saw him. Arrangements are already made to make them a companion ofparlor. We would be so glad, if we could see some of you. Our bestregards to you all. Your ab.t friend, N. B. Palmer
