Notes for Elizabeth Mahala Cooper: Death Certificate Seen: Mahala Mosher died in Erwin, burried Lawrenceville. Died 11:40 a.m.,cause senility, age listed as 72 (age actually 70?)
Granddaughter, Mabel Fiester: Had memory of going to the funeral ofher grandmother (Mahala Cooper Mosher). The funeral was in the spring(March) and there was very high water. Mabel's father, Henry SoursFiester hired a horse and buggy to go to the funeral, but her mother,Eliza D.Mosher Fiester, was afraid to cross the river with the buggyfor fear the bridge would collapse. Her father carried the childrenacross, her mother walked across to attend the funeral.
Soon after that, Henry, Eliza and family went west to St.Paul, Minn.then Sumner, Iowa and Cross Lake, Minn.
Corning Daily Journal, Wednesday, March 12, 1902: " Death of a Former Corning Resident: Mahala Mosher, aged 70 yearsdied yesterdy at her home at Presho. D eceased was the widow of EdwardMosher. Deceased was formerly a resident of Corning, but she removedto Prescho about one year ago. She is survived by the followingchildren: Mrs. Sarah H. Plumley, of Stokesdale, Pa; Mrs. J.H.Stebbinsand Mrs. H.S.Fiester, of Corning, Mrs. L.P.Reep of Prescho; Marshalland Charles of Lawrenceville, Pa; Albert of Mulhollen; Valentine, ofCorning, and Frederick of Elmira. The funeral which is in charge ofA.P.Smith will be held at the Lawrenceville M.E.Church on Friday at 1p.m. Burial will be at Lawrenceville."
