Thomas Oviatt married his second wife, Mrs.Lydia (Kellogg) Clark andsettled in New Milford in 1723. He bought half a Right of John Clark,and settled on west side of Second hill. He had a number of children,all born before he came here.

July 11, 1729 Ebenezer Baldwin and Thomas Oviatt were chosen tithingmen from that time until the town meeting in December to oversee theyouth in the meeting house in the time of exercise, that is, themales.

Dec.13, 1731, Thomas Oviatt was assigned to sit in the second seat inthe body of the first meeting house. This seat was the fourth inprominence.
