WILL BOOK NO. 1, ST. FRANCOIS COUNTY, MISSOURI,

I William Garrett of the County of St. Francois and State of Missouri, do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following, to wit:
First, It is my will that my funeral expenses and all my just debts be fully paid.
Second, I give devise and bequeath unto my daughter Elizabeth M. Garrett, in lieu and full payment of her separate money that I hold in my hands as her agent a judgment of the Circuit Court of St. Francois County, Missouri, in my favor against John Boss for the sum of one thousand and fifty three & 72/100 dollars and of date November the 11th 1868, as also the sum of one thousand dollars in cash to be paid to my daughter out of my estate after the death of my beloved wife Anna Garrett hereinafter named.
Third, I give, devise and bequeath unto my beloved wife Anna Garrett all of the rest, residue and remainder of my estate both real and personal and wherever situate for and during her natural life, and after her death to be sold and the proceeds arising therefrom, after the payment of the bequest to my daughter of the one thousand dollars named in Second clause of this my last will, to be equally divided by my executors hereinafter named, amongst all of my children, to wit:Elizabeth M. Garrett, John W. Garrett, Rebecca L. Garrett now the wife of Samuel Philpot, A. T. Garrett, W. H. Garrett and Leonard J. Garrett, share and share alike.
Fourth, I hereby name and appoint my two sons William H. Garrett and ..(blank).. to be executors of this my last will and testament.
Fifth, It is my will and I so direct that there be no administration or letters testamentary taken out on my estate by my executors or any one else during the natural life time of my wife, Anna Garrett, but that the whole of the property belonging to my estate (except the judgment given to my daughter), be and remain in my wife's possession during her life, hereby making and annulling all former wills by me made and satifying and confirming this and no other to be my last will and testament.
In Testimony whereof, I have hereto set my hand and seal this 19th day of March, A.D. 1872
