1. JOSEPH¹ ROSS was born April 12, 1858 in Illinois, and died December 17, 1933 in Piedmont. Missouri. He married ELIZABETH ANNE SEEMATTER June 14, 1896 in Piedmont, Missouri, daughter of FREDERICK SEEMATTER and ELIZABETH (SEEMATER). She was born May 1869 in Saxeton, Switzerland, and died July 27, 1910 in Piedmont. Missouri.

Notes for JOSEPH ROSS:
Joseph met Elizabeth on a farm in Pennsylvania. I do not know who Joseph's or Elizabeth's families were or how Joseph got from Illinois, where I believe he was born, to Pennsylvania and then to Missouri.

Notes for ELIZABETH ANNE SEEMATTER:
Elizabeth came to the US in 1882 from Saxeton, Switzerland with her half-brothers, the Zingich's. I do not know the circumstances of their travel to the US.

Notes for FRANK ROSS:
Frank was in the Marines and went "AOL" and was really never heard from again. The story is that he did write one letter a short while after he deserted to say he was ok but was then never heard from again.

She was born January 20, 1909 in Flat River, Missouri, and died August 31, 1989 in St. Louis, Missouri.

Notes for LEE ROY ROSS:
Lee worked at General Electric in a factory making light bulbs. He loved to fish and hunt. He had a wonderful sense of humor. He was well liked by everyone. He was a very handsome man. His mother died when he was four.

Notes for RUTH VELMA FURRY:
While Roman was Ruth's second husband he was her first love. They were in love and engaged when Ruth was 17. However, Ruth moved from Leadwood to St. Louis to work in a shoe factory where she met Lee and broke off the engagement. Ruth was happily married to Lee for many years. After Lee died, Roman showed up having read the obituary and they started dating until he proposed, again. They married and he died 6 years later. Ruth was very religious, never learned to drive, and walked almost everywhere. Ruth was a wondeful mother and Grandmother. She lived out her later years surrounded by family in Bridgeton, Missouri.

Notes for WILLIAM FLETCHER DAILEY III:
William was known to everyone as Bill. Bill was a great father and Grandfather. He worked as a salesman for IBM, Southwestern Bell Telephone, Continental Textles, and American Standard. Bill died at 52 of cancer and was greatly missed by everyone.
