USAN BELLE SANFORD:
Susan Belle Sanford (9-10258) is referred to as Susie B. Sanford in the Sanford Genealogy. She married William Henry Bement. (Source: Thomas Sanford Genealogy, c., 1911, pp. 860, 1197)

Additional information on her ancestors are researched via Thomas Andrew Sanford, her sixth great grandfather, and is located on Brøderbund World Family Tree, Volume 8, Pedigree #3331. This provides a vital link to Nicholas deSandford and his spouse, Alice Botilier. Alice is a descendant of Henry II, King of England, and links the Sanford family with the royal families of the United Kingdom and other royal families on the continent, and therefore the Bement line links with Sanford, and royal line, at this branch of the Bement tree. The "Susie" Story, as told by Marie Humphrey-Flintoff to her neice, Diane Decker-Warneke, 1998:

It seems that for generations, that when anyone would get up from a dinner table, before it's cleared, indicating they were going to "the bathroom", some
body would say: "Where you going Susie?" The story is that Susie was known for excusing herself from the table to go to the outhouse, thus avoiding helping with cleanup.

Aside...my aunt says that she grew up with the story, and her kids, and I recall my mom saying the same thing...I was great at it..."Hey Susie, where ya going." (Note: Marie is the great niece of Susie Sanford)
