2. JOHANN VALENTINE² GEIGER JR. (JOHANN VALENTINE¹) was born December 21, 1685 in Ittlingen, Baden, Germany, and died December 1762 in New Hanover Twp, Montgumery County PA. He married (1) JOHANNA FREDERICKA HENCKEL 1714-1715 in Germany, daughter of ANTHONY HENCKEL and MARIA DENTZER. He married (2) MARIA ELIZABETH SCHMIDT 1741 in New Hanover Twp, Montgumery County, PA.

Valentine Geiger Jr. was born in Germany in 1685.
He came to Philidelphia in September, 1717.

Valentine Geiger Jr. was a son-in-law of Rev. Anthony Jacob Henkel. They
settled in Hanover Twp. (now Montgomery County), northwest of Philadelphia, and
Valentine Geiger Jr. purchased 250 acres of land on April 16, 1718 from John
Henry Sprogell. An adjoining land owner was Anthony Jacob Henkel. Valentine
Geiger Jr. was a key figure in the building of the New Hanover Luthern Church in
the United States.

The New Hanover Luthern Church established its place in history at the outset of
the Revolutionary War when the British burned Philadelphia, which was at the
time the seat of the First Continental Congress. The Congress moved the
treasury, as it existed at that time, to the basement of The New Hanover Luthern
Church.
