John D Maxwell, 94, of Van Buren, formerly of Mountainburg, died Sunday, March 25, 2001, in a local nursing home. He was a retired pipe fitter in industrial construction, a member of Pipe Fitters Union Local No. 198, and the Hobbtown Baptist Church.
Funeral will be 10 A.M. Wednesday in Ocker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Van Buren with burial at Gracelawn Cemetery in Van Buren.
He is survived by a son, John Bert Maxwell of Northridge California; two brothers, Austin Maxwell of Rudy and Clyde Maxwell of Wichita, Kansas; and one granddaughter.
Pallbearers will be Charlie Franklin, James Parmenter, David Broadrick, Johnny Whitsett, Bill Vickery and Leon Lamb.

Per Aunt Lucille: She and Lon were married in Van Buren, Crawford County, Arkansas by Ruben Coatney. She was staying with her sister Marjorie and husband Buford so she could help with baby Marjorie was about to deliver.
      According to Aunt Lucille she and Lon went dancing on their wedding night, on Highway 59 North of Van Buren at a place she believes was called Chauncy Smiths.

Felix Harding Doyel, 77, of Mountainburg died Sunday, May 10, 1998, in his home. He was a member of the Pigeon Creek Free Will Baptist Church in Mountainburg, a retired lieutenant of the Arkansas Highway Police, a member of the Mountainburg Mason Lodge No. 332 and the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department Retirement Association.
Funeral will be 2 P.M. Wednesday at Ocker Funeral Home Chapel in Alma. Masonic grave side service will be at Gracelawn Cemetery in Van Buren. He is survived by one step-daughter, Shirley Thomas of Richmond, Virginia; one brother, Landy of Ozark, four grandchildren, Donald Thomas of Richmond, Virginia, Michael and Shannon Thomas, both of Mountainburg, and Darryl Thomas of College Station Texas; and six great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Landry Doyel Jr., David Doyel, Billy Doyel, Grady Sharp, Donald D. Thomas, Michael Thomas, Darryl Thomas, Shannon Thomas and Ronald Doyel.
The family will visit with friends from 6:30 P.M. to 8 P.M. today at the funeral home.
