MD House of Judge Richard NORMENT c1875-1882
|
|

This house in Westminster, Carroll Co. MD, was the one the Judge Richard Baxter NORMENT family was living in when the 1877 Carroll Co. atlas was made, and in the 1880 census. By 1883 he was in Orlando, FL. This is a Civil War-era house with double front doors and a surviving outbuilding. It has a Maryland porch (a 2-storey covered porch for sleeping in summer), which is now enclosed. There is an ancient maple in the back yard and the rear view is of a county park. Judge NORMENT's nephew Clarence Forbes NORMENT, II, also lived here while attending Western Maryland College.
