William Bennett, b.c1765, had a son Jeremiah Bennett who m. Susannah Wilkinson, and moved to Johnsburg, NY in 1810. In 1844 Jeremiah and Susannah sold their farm, and moved along with almost their whole family to and including grandchildren out to the mid-west during the land rush. The majority of this family got as far as Keokuk County, Iowa before they settled down once more to farming. Later on the Bennett family spread to several states including, Missouri, Kansas, Ilinois, Nebraska, Washington state, Arizona and even Louisana. By now I'm sure they are in every state. I have found several cousins in these states over the years. Some we visited and others have come to visit us. It has been a wonderful experiance. I Live in the Adirondack Mountains in upstate, NY because Jeremiah's son James Bennett with his wife Sarah Hack Bennett decided to come back to Johnsburg, NY after a few years out in Iowa. They lived here the rest of their lives. I would like to make contact with more cousins from this Bennett family line.
I am also researching, Pratt, Van Dusen, Middleton, Morehouse, Hitchcock, Dalaba, Bills, Rounds and many more. Would like to share information with you, contact me at <fbennett@capital.net>.
