* The Ivy F. (Lomond) Benoit Family*

Updated January 12, 2009

Some of the names that I'm researching are BENOIT, AuCOIN, and DOUCET on my husband's side - most of the ancestors came from France and then settled in Acadia (Nova Scotia) but eventually came to Newfoundland to settle in the Codroy Valley and Bay St. George areas.

Now for my side of the family - some of my names are Lomond, Lillington, Dicks, Anderson, Harvey, Vatcher, Meade and Currie. Except for the Harvey name which came from the Jersey Islands, I don't know where my ancestors came from in the first place. However, in this great province of Newfoundland, my relatives came from Burgeo, Isle au Morte, Port aux Basques, and other areas of the southwest coast.

I'd love to hear from anyone who can help fill in some of the blanks on my family tree. I'd also like to take this opportunity to thank all those who have helped me thus far with very special thanks going out to Sharon Dillon.
