Notes for FLOYD TAYLOR KIER:
Note--Mrs. Alta Opal Coburn of Albany, Mo., descendant of Lavina Sales Neal Kier has in her possession a Tailors Iron, that belonged to Robert Kier (3), who was, according to legend, a Tailor. Mrs. Berneice Kier Cooley of Lafayette, Ore., says the story of Robert being a Tailor has come down through the Family to her.
From Gentry and Davies County History Page 790--They lived at Brownlee, NE and late at Seneca, NE
Note--From Mrs. Joe Devine and Mrs Haffner both of Seneca, Nebr. Mrs. Floyd Kier used to take in washings as the family was "hardup". She has washed for the Banker's wife, Mrs. Haffner. Floyd was sickly and not always employed. He used to catch and sell catfish. Dick one of the sons, was the most energetic of the family and almost the "Mainstay" of the family according to Mrs. Haffner. Maybelle was a hard worker and was always doing something for some one. Everybody loved her.--In Dec 1927, Richard Kier (5), bought Lots 14 and 15 Block 3 in Seneca, Nebr. which he sold in Oct. 1935 to Gertrude McLaughlin.
