2. ALEXANDER2 DOUGLAS , IW (FREDERICK1) was born 1797 in Montgomery Co., GA, and died Nov 13, 1870 in Waresboro, Ware Co., GA. He married DICY BRANCH 1828 in Waresboro, Ware Co., GA, daughter of EZEKIEL SELLERS/SELLARS and MARY BRANCH.

Notes for JAMES DOUGLAS:
       James Douglas, son of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas, had a fine war record. He had moved to Clinch county about the beginning of the Civil War. He Volunteered in Co. "G", 50th Georgia Infantry Regiment, a Clinch county company raised by Capt. John R. O'Steen. He enlisted as a private March 4, 1862; was badly wounded at the battle of Boonesboro, Md., Sept 14, 1862 but recovered; was promoted to 3rd Lieutenant, March 2, 1863, and to 1st Lieut. July 2, 1863. He was killed in action at Gettysburg while leading his company. His estate in Clinch County was administered by his brother, Frederick, 1868-1871.
