The Belair and DeLisle Familys of Windsor
The Belair and DeLisle families of Windsor come together with the marriage of Lawrence Belair and Geraldine DeLisle. From this marriage ancestors with names of Bensette, Larsh, Cavanaugh, Courville, Theoret, LaForet, Deriger dit Plante, Menard, Clarke, Lavigne, Quesnel, Poudrette dit Lavigne, and others merge to the two family names Belair and DeLisle. They come from LaChute Quebec,France, Spain,California, Toledo Ohio, Sandwich-Assumption Windsor,Amherstburg,Vaudriuel Quebec,Laprairie,Glen Robertson and Bizard Quebec just to name a few.
The DeLisle family are direct decendants of Louis DeLisle and Louise Desgranges of France. Louise is a "Fille du roi", a group of women who were given dowrys by King Louis to settle and marry a settler in New France.
The Belair family are direct decendants of Andre Robidou dit L'Espagnol of Spain and Jeanne Denote of France. Jeanne is also a "Fille du roi". The name Belair has only been used for the last 5 generations of sons from Etienne Belair dit Robidou.

This is a picture of Walter DeLisle who married Rose Bensette on June 4, 1927 in Toledo, Ohio. They resided in Windsor, Ontario for all of their married life. Walter died on December 19, 1956 and Rose died on May 27, 1995 at 88 years old.

This is Lawrence Belair and Florence Larsh who married on July 10, 1930. They settled in Windsor, Ontario and had 8 children.

Lawrence Belair married Geraldine DeLisle on September 26, 1959. They settled in Windsor, Ontario and raised 4 children.
