November 16th 1849
Dear Brother and Sister in Law I take my pen to  hand and inform you that our youngest son died this morning after a painfull sicknefs of forty ours His Disease was the Croup aged 2 years 5 months 25 days to morrow at 10 Oclock the funerel shall take place
All the rest of our family are in good helth hoping this few lines will find you in a good state of helth
Here with I will Close at present 
If you get this few lines Sent me an answer if I live after while I will write you more satisfoactory so much of yours Respectfuly
