January 9th, 1869 Ridgeland Henry Co Ohio Dear Parents It is rather unexpected to me that I take my pen in Hand this morning to write a few lines to you Mr. Murrey came here this morning and wanted to know when I was going home and as I do not know when I could come unless it would snow I thought I would write and tell you Mr. Murry got a letter from Davids GrandMother she has a sore leg and it pains her very much Pop she wants you to try your cure to take away the pain her name is Catharine Rader I have been looking all winter for some of you to come over if some of you don't come soon write and let me know hou you are all getting along I have not heard any thing of you since I was there I would like to know if Jims have got back yet We are all well and hope these few lines may find you enjoying the same belssing you must excuse a short letter this time as it is Saturday morning and I am not prepared to write much but come over and I can talk lots better than I can write any time nomore at this time but remain as ever your affectionate Daughter Susanna Hashberger
