Includes NotesNotes for Marie Sauteuse a Indian Mannon:

This comes to me from the Walpole Island, Ontario Reservation Heritage Centre when I asked the same question.

A Saulteuse Indian, also Saulteurs, is French for an "Indian" who comes from the Bawating-the Place of the Rapids-present-day Sault Ste Marie- Sault is rapids in French.... the term in historical context usually refers to Ojibwa or Anishinabe people...

I also have an article sent to me about the Ottawa Indians and stuff about Pontiac but it is too long to copy out here. Anyone wishing this, please email me at jhunt@csource.net and will send it to you. I have also been looking into Pontiac's descendants and have been told that there is offical documentation at the Windsor Ontario Archives that proves that Mannon is truely the daughter of Cheif Pontiac but have yet to check it out for myself. I'm hoping to do that soon. Will post what I find out.

Sauteuse, This tribe of Indians was called Sauteux from Sault Ste Marie
