Death of Nicolaus Bürger
In Oberotterbach, Church St. Apostles Simon and Jude, Bishops resort of Speyer; In the year 1769, on the 2nd of September, died in this place the honest young man, Nicolaus, stone cutter, legitimate son of the deceased Jacob Bürger, and of the deceased Magdalena Büsser, in their lifetime both in Goersdorf, district of Strasbourg. And has been buried the next day in our graveyard in the presence of witnesses, Michael Danner, stone cutter and burgher here, and Georg Rienhard, miller, undersigned. Note: This death certificate was taken from Nicolaus's Will, read on the 23rd of February, 1770. He left as heirs, Eva Dorothea Bürger, single but major of years, Maria Anna Bürger, married to Johann Martin Weidenbacher, owner of the farm in Wineckerthal and Catharina Magdalena Bürger, wife of Ludwig Bastian, shepherd on the Windstein. All three sisters of the deceased and for a third in this inheritance.
